This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated team supporting children with a range of complex Additional Learning Needs within both a Specialist Teaching Facility and mainstream primary classrooms.

About the Role

As a Children's Support Assistant, you will work across the school's three sites, supporting pupils within the:

• Infant Department
• Junior Department
• Specialist Teaching Facility

Working alongside teachers, the ALNCo, therapists and other professionals, you will provide personalised support that enables children to achieve their individual goals and reach their full potential.

This is a varied and rewarding role where every day is different.

Your Day May Include:

• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Working within specialist classes of approximately 5-10 pupils.
• Supporting learners within mainstream classrooms throughout the school day.
• Delivering personalised learning activities.
• Following Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
• Using communication strategies such as PECS and visual timetables.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and social development.
• Encouraging independence and life skills.
• Assisting with personal care and manual handling where required.
• Supporting pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes and educational visits.
• Working alongside teachers, therapists, families and external agencies to provide the best possible outcomes for every child.

The Children You Will Support

You will support pupils aged 3-11 years with a wide range of Additional Learning Needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
• Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Complex communication needs
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Sensory processing differences
• Children who benefit from structured routines, visual supports and alternative communication methods such as PECS.

The Specialist Teaching Facility consists of small classes of approximately 5-10 pupils, allowing staff to provide highly personalised support. Alongside supporting pupils within the specialist provision, you will also support learners accessing mainstream lessons and wider school life, helping to create a truly inclusive learning environment.

Essential Requirements

• Experience supporting children or adults with Additional Learning Needs (AL
