Teaching Personnel is seeking a Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant to work within a specialist education setting supporting pupils who may require additional behavioural, emotional, and wellbeing support to access learning successfully.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone who is patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education and reach their potential.

The role offers the chance to work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team while developing valuable experience in education, behaviour support, pastoral care, and Additional Learning Needs (ALN).

As a Behaviour & Wellbeing Support Assistant, you will:

✅ Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.

✅ Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, confidence and engagement.

✅ Assist learners who may experience social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

✅ Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.

✅ Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

✅ Help pupils develop confidence, resilience, communication skills and independence.

✅ Celebrate progress and achievements every step of the way.

✔️ Genuine passion for supporting young people.

✔️ Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

✔️ Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults is desirable but not essential.

✔️ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

Full-time role for the academic year.

Excellent experience for careers in teaching, psychology, social work, youth work, counselling and pastoral support.
