Are you passionate about supporting young people who may have struggled within mainstream education?

We are currently looking for a resilient, patient and proactive Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision in Worthing. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with young people and wants to help them overcome barriers to education and make positive changes.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils with a range of behavioural, social and emotional needs.

You will be responsible for:

• Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage their behaviour
• Providing consistent boundaries and positive reinforcement
• Encouraging engagement with learning and helping pupils recognise their potential
• Supporting pupils both in and outside of the classroom
• Managing challenging situations calmly and confidently
• Helping to create a safe, structured and positive learning environment
• Acting as a positive role model and encouraging pupils to make positive choices

Previous experience within education, Alternative Provision, SEMH, SEN, youth work, care, mentoring, sports coaching or a similar environment would be beneficial, but is not essential. Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the right attitude, resilience and ability to build positive relationships.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
