Behaviour Support Worker - Maidenhead

Are you passionate about supporting young people and interested in gaining valuable experience working with children and young people with additional needs?

A specialist SEN school in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join their team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background or interest in Psychology, Education, Mental Health, Therapy, Social Care, or Special Educational Needs who want to develop practical experience supporting young people with a range of behavioural and emotional needs.

As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of additional needs.
  • Support students to manage their behaviour and develop positive coping strategies.
  • Help young people build confidence, independence, and emotional regulation skills.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Work closely with teachers and SEN staff to provide consistent and effective support.
  • Observe and monitor students' behaviour, wellbeing, engagement, and progress.
  • Encourage positive participation in learning and daily activities.

We're looking for a Behaviour Support Worker who is:

  • Compassionate, patient, and genuinely passionate about supporting young people.
  • Calm, resilient, and confident when managing challenging behaviour.
  • A strong communicator with an interest in behaviour, psychology, or child development.
