Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with behavioural and additional needs?

A Secondary SEN School in Reading is seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Behavioural Therapists, Counsellors, or Teachers.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with behavioural and additional needs.
  • Help students develop emotional regulation, confidence, independence, and positive coping strategies.
  • Support students who may experience challenging behaviour, anxiety, emotional difficulties, or difficulties with self-regulation.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and provide consistent encouragement and reassurance.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to promote a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

We're looking for a Behaviour Support Assistant who is:

  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient.
  • Calm and confident when supporting young people experiencing behavioural or emotional difficulties.
  • A confident communicator with a genuine passion for working with children and young people.
