Teaching Personnel are working closely with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Blackpool (FY1) who are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils with additional and behavioural needs across the school.

This is a full-time role, starting ASAP, running initially until July, with a strong possibility of extension into September 2026 for the right candidate.

As a Behaviour TA, you will play a vital role in helping pupils to access learning, regulate emotions, and develop positive behaviour strategies. Support will be provided across year groups, working with children who may present challenging behaviour linked to SEND such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or trauma-related needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group behavioural support
  • Supporting pupils to remain engaged and regulated in the classroom
  • Implementing behaviour plans and positive behaviour strategies
  • Working closely with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff
  • Helping to create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Has experience working with children with behavioural or additional needs
  • Is calm, resilient and proactive in challenging situations
  • Has a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Is passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential
  • Experience within a Primary School or SEN setting is highly desirable
