Behaviour Support Assistant

We are seeking a committed and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join our supportive secondary school community in Salford. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant role, working closely with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) who require additional behavioural, emotional, and social support to succeed in school.

The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting inclusion, and helping students engage with learning both in and out of the classroom.

• Provide targeted behaviour and emotional support to students with SEN
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning and behaviour management
• Implement behaviour support strategies and personalised support plans
• Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs
• Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour and engagement
• Foster a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
• Liaise effectively with teaching staff, SEND teams, and external professionals

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN and/or challenging behaviour
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour support
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to remain positive and consistent in challenging situations
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to succeed
• Previous TA or school-based experience is desirable, but not essential
