l have been asked by a Primary school to recruit an enthusiastic ASC experienced teaching assistant to join their staff team.

The students attend the school due to a diagnosis of Autism and many have co-existing conditions including ADHD, sensory processing disorder, learning disabilities, disruptive behaviour disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, tics and Tourette syndrome, epilepsy and learning disabilities.

You must be confident and capable of supporting pupils who have problems with communication, toileting, eating or have sensory difficulties. You must be resilient and have the ability to work pro actively with challenging behaviour.

The role is challenging, but the class sizes are smaller, so you’ll really have a great opportunity to make an impact on the children.

You must have experience in supporting children / adults with Autism or have a close personal connection to Autism. Candidates with Team Teach or experience in PECS and / or Makaton are highly sought after.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
