Are you an experienced Behaviour Specialist with a passion for supporting young people who may struggle within a traditional classroom environment?

We are seeking a confident, resilient and experienced Behaviour Specialist to join a secondary school in the Preston area on a full-time basis. This role will focus on supporting pupils outside of the mainstream classroom, helping them to manage their behaviour, re-engage with their education and make positive progress.

As a Behaviour Specialist, you will work closely with pupils who may display challenging behaviour or require additional support with their social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing dedicated support to pupils outside of the classroom
• Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
• Supporting pupils who are struggling to engage with mainstream lessons
• Building positive, trusting relationships with young people
• Helping pupils develop strategies to manage their behaviour and emotions
• Supporting the successful reintegration of pupils back into lessons where appropriate
• Managing challenging situations calmly and effectively
• Working alongside teaching staff, pastoral teams and senior leaders
• Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and attendance

Previous experience is essential for this position. We would particularly like to hear from candidates who have experience working within:

• Secondary schools
• Behaviour or inclusion units
• Alternative provision
• Pupil referral units (PRUs)
• SEND or SEMH settings
• Youth work or other relevant behaviour-focused environments

You will need to be confident, patient and resilient, with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build rapport with secondary-aged pupils.
