Are you a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll play a key role in supporting students' emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small group support to students experiencing behavioural, emotional, or social difficulties.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent and supportive role model.
- Support students in developing positive behaviour, emotional regulation, resilience, confidence, and social skills.
- Implement individual behaviour support strategies and contribute to behaviour improvement plans where appropriate.
- Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, SENCOs, and other support staff to identify and address barriers to learning.
- Support students who may have additional needs, including SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or challenging behaviour.
- Help students manage conflict, develop positive communication skills, and make appropriate choices.
- Monitor students' behaviour and progress, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to relevant staff.
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom, including during lessons, break times, and other school activities where required.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that encourages students to engage with their education.
- Follow school policies and procedures relating to behaviour, safeguarding, and child protection.
Requirements
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting challenging behaviour.
- The ability to build positive relationships and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve their potential.
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
