Are you passionate about supporting children's behaviour and wellbeing? Do you have experience working with young people through sport or physical activity? This could be your perfect next step.

We are working with a fantastic primary school in BS10 that is looking for someone with a sports coaching background to join their team as a Behaviour Buddy on a full time, long term basis.

This is a warm, welcoming school with a supportive staff team and a real community feel. The leadership team is committed to staff wellbeing and professional development, making it a great place to transition into education.

No school experience? No problem. If you have coached children in football, rugby, swimming, gymnastics, athletics or any other sport and are passionate about supporting their behaviour and emotional development, we want to hear from you.

The Role

- Full time Behaviour Buddy / Behaviour Mentor
- Starting September, with opportunities to start now
- Long term position with the potential to continue
- Supporting children with behaviour, self-regulation and emotional wellbeing
- Building positive relationships with pupils who need extra support
- Using sport, physical activity and outdoor learning to engage children
- Running small group interventions and 1-1 mentoring sessions
- De-escalating challenging situations with a calm, positive approach
- Supporting children at break times and lunchtimes
- Helping children develop confidence, self-esteem and social skills
- Working closely with the SENCo and pastoral team

About You

- Experience coaching children in any sport or physical activity
- Background in football coaching, rugby coaching, swimming instruction, gymnastics, athletics or similar
- Natural ability to connect with children who find school challenging
- Patient, calm and able to remain positive in difficult situations
- Passionate about supporting children's behaviour, wellbeing and emotional development
- Confident using sport and physical activity as tools for engagement
- Understanding that behaviour is communication
- Able to set clear boundaries while building trust
- Reliable, positive and committed to making a difference
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively
