Position: ASC Support Worker

Start Date Monday 29th April 2024.

Location: PR3

Full-time, Monday-Friday (8:30-3:15)

A small, one for entry school in PR3 are looking for an individual to join their team to provide Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) support to a range of children across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The Head Teacher would like the ideal candidate to be compassionate, hold excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a strong understanding of ASC and strategies for support.

The school has a dedicated team, committed to providing high-quality support to individuals with ASC, promoting independence, and fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Working alongside a supportive team the candidate will make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with ASC, supporting their social, emotional, and educational development. The school has a passionate ethos about teaching children to love life, themselves, and the world around them.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Collaborating with teachers to implement individualized learning plans
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with ASC.
  • Creating and implementing sensory-friendly learning experiences.
  • Supporting students in developing social skills and fostering positive peer interactions.
  • Working closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in health and social care.
  • Experience in Primary education setting.
