A friendly and inclusive primary school in Redbridge is seeking a compassionate Autism Support Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from September 2026. This long-term opportunity runs until July 2027 and is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive in the classroom.

Working alongside experienced teachers and SEN professionals, you'll provide tailored support that helps pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) develop academically, socially and emotionally. For graduates considering a future in teaching, psychology or specialist education, teacher training opportunities are available.



Your Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Work one-to-one and with small intervention groups
  • Help implement individual learning and behaviour strategies
  • Encourage communication, confidence and independence
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Contribute to a calm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment


What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in supporting children with autism and additional needs
  • Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
  • Patient, resilient and caring approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Graduates and experienced Teaching Assistants are both encouraged to apply
  • An interest in progressing into teacher training or a career in education is welcomed
