Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and nurturing SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This full-time opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful difference within a welcoming and inclusive primary school environment.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting children with autism or additional learning needs.
• Demonstrate patience, understanding, and a calm approach to supporting young learners.
• Be able to adapt strategies and activities to meet individual educational and sensory requirements.
• Build positive relationships and support pupils with confidence and consistency.
• Be passionate about helping children overcome challenges and achieve success in the classroom.
• Hold an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.

Key Responsibilities

As a 1:1 SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:

• Work closely with a pupil with autism, supporting their engagement in lessons and wider school activities.
• Assist with emotional regulation and help implement strategies that promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver tailored interventions and learning plans.
• Encourage the development of communication, social, and independent learning skills.
• Support classroom learning, transitions, and daily routines to ensure the pupil feels secure and able to thrive.
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child is encouraged to succeed.
