Autism 1:1 Learning Support Assistant

Schedule: Full-time

Monday – Friday 8:30 – 3:30

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to support students in a specialised educational needs college catering to students with Autism and complex learning difficulties. The successful candidate will work closely with students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, providing essential support to help them achieve their Educational Healthcare Plan goals. You will be supporting activities of daily living such as cooking, gardening, arts and crafts as well as personal care, as required.

-          Support students with Autism and complex learning difficulties in their academic and social development.

-          Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

The school’s curriculum supports all students in developing skills for future lives based on their long-term aspirations. It is fluid, offering personalised activities tailored to individual needs and interests. Emphasis is placed on promoting independence and communication skills at all stages.

Previous experience working with students with Autism and complex learning difficulties would be desirable. However, strong communication, interpersonal skills patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational needs of students are essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
