This is a relationship-led, child-centred role where you will work one-to-one with learners, typically in their home environment or a suitable community setting, helping them overcome barriers to attendance and gradually re-engage with education.

- Identify barriers to attendance and support learners in developing practical solutions.
- Support positive routines at home, including sleep, independence and preparation for learning.
- Use games, creative activities and the learner's interests to encourage engagement.
- Support learners with confidence, emotional wellbeing and motivation.
- Monitor progress and complete session reports.
- Encourage re-engagement with education and positive activities in preparation for transition.
- Work collaboratively with families and relevant education professionals where required.
What This Role Is Not
- No academic tutoring.
- No personal care or medical responsibilities.
- No behaviour restraint or manual handling.
Our Approach
You will take a pupil-led and solution-focused approach, helping learners to:

- Manage emotions and develop positive coping strategies.
- Reconnect with education through their interests and goals.
- Develop positive routines and healthy habits.
- Build motivation and independence.
- Take gradual steps towards re-engaging with education.
Sessions are flexible and may include play-based activities, creative work, interest-led activities and appropriate community engagement.
