Key Responsibilities:
*
Lead the strategic development of the school's SEN policy and provision, ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
*
Work collaboratively with the headteacher and other members of the senior leadership team to drive the school's overall vision and objectives.
*
Manage the provision for children with SEN, including overseeing the work of teachers and support staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.
*
Develop and maintain effective partnerships with parents, carers, external agencies, and other stakeholders to support the well-being and progress of students with SEN.
*
Contribute to the professional development of all teaching staff in understanding the needs of students with SEN.
*
Play a significant role in the wider leadership and management of the school as a member of the senior leadership team, including responsibilities that may extend beyond SEN provision.

Requirements for the Role:
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a substantial teaching background, preferably in SEN settings.
*A National Award for Special Educational Needs Coordination (NASENCO) or equivalent qualification, with a thorough understanding of the latest SEN practices and legislation.
*Proven leadership and management experience within an educational setting, demonstrating successful outcomes in SEN provision.
*Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead, inspire, and influence staff, students, and the wider school community.
*Strong organizational and strategic planning skills, with the capacity to initiate and manage change.
*A deep commitment to inclusive education and the promotion of high expectations for all students, regardless of their background or abilities.
*Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and proactive approach.
