⭐ About the Role
Thinking about becoming a teacher and want classroom experience before fully committing? Already supporting students through tutoring or mentoring?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Aspiring Teacher to join one of our welcoming secondary schools in the Newport area.
In this role, you will supervise classes during teacher absences and provide support across both short-term and long-term vacancies, ensuring pupils remain engaged, on task, and focused on completing their assigned work.
Strong subject knowledge is highly valued, particularly in areas you are passionate about. Whether your expertise lies in Mathematics, Science, Welsh, Modern Foreign Languages, or another curriculum subject, you will have opportunities to utilise your skills and enhance students' learning experiences.
The key qualities we look for are confidence, adaptability, and the ability to create a positive learning environment, as well as the confidence to step into any classroom and cover any subject when needed.
Although this role does not require a formal teaching qualification, educators must be able to discuss their relevant experience, skills, qualifications or academic background during interview and will be required to complete thorough vetting checks.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, trainee teachers, individuals with leadership experience, or anyone wanting to develop strong behaviour management skills. It's an excellent stepping stone into education and a great way to gain meaningful classroom experience.
