About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school from September 2026. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them access learning, develop confidence and independence, and thrive both academically and socially within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Key Duties
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them engage fully in learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to implement individual learning plans and EHCP targets where appropriate.
- Adapt learning resources and activities to meet the individual needs of pupils.
- Support students' communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and independence using appropriate strategies.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and record pupils' progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and the wider SEND team.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers, and colleagues to support students' development and wellbeing.
- Assist with personal care and daily routines where required, ensuring pupils' dignity and wellbeing are maintained.
- Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times.
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development to continually enhance knowledge and skills in supporting pupils with SEND.
