ASD Assistant - Oxford
Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)?
A specialist school in Oxford is seeking a dedicated, caring and enthusiastic ASD Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Therapists, or Teachers who want to build valuable, hands-on experience working with young people with autism and additional needs.
As an ASD Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual students with ASD.
- Support students with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence.
- Help students access learning and participate positively within the classroom.
- Use consistent and supportive strategies to encourage engagement, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Work alongside teachers and other professionals to create a structured, inclusive and supportive environment.
We're looking for an ASD Assistant who is:
- Compassionate, patient and enthusiastic about supporting young people.
- A confident communicator with a genuine passion for working with individuals with ASD.
- Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, education or therapy.
