ASD Assistant - Maidenhead
Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional needs?
A specialist school in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate ASD Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Therapists, SEN professionals, or Teachers.
As an ASD Assistant, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support tailored to the individual needs of students with ASD.
- Support students with their communication, emotional regulation, social development, and learning.
- Help students build confidence, independence, and positive relationships.
- Work closely with teachers and other professionals to create a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment.
- Observe and monitor students' progress, wellbeing, behaviour, and engagement throughout the school day.
We're looking for an ASD Assistant who is:
- Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about supporting young people with ASD.
- A confident communicator with a genuine interest in autism and special educational needs.
- Interested in gaining practical experience before pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy, or other related fields.
