Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Duration: September 2024 to End of Academic Year
Location: Primary School in Nelson (BB9) 

Pay rate: £12.90 - £13.55 per hour

Are you passionate about supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support to a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenging behavior at a Primary School in Nelson (BB9) starting in September 2024.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with a child with ASD to provide tailored academic and behavioral support.
  • Implement individualized learning plans and behavior management strategies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialists to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records and communicate progress to parents and school staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or similar special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN practices and behavior management techniques.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learning needs.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special education (desirable but not essential).
