Are you a passionate and creative Art and Design Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking an enthusiastic Art Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school, where you'll inspire pupils to develop their creativity, artistic skills, confidence, and love of learning through engaging and inspiring art lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive Art lessons in line with the relevant curriculum.
  • Teach pupils across a range of abilities and year groups, developing their knowledge and understanding of art and design.
  • Introduce pupils to a variety of artistic techniques, materials, processes, and styles.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, and participation.
  • Develop pupils' practical skills across drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, and other creative areas where appropriate.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Encourage pupils to explore their own ideas and develop confidence in their creative abilities.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and respect within the classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, parents, and the wider school community to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Contribute to displays, exhibitions, school events, and wider creative activities where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Art and Design and the relevant curriculum.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • A passion for creativity and inspiring pupils through engaging and inclusive teaching.
  • The ability to plan and deliver imaginative and stimulating Art lessons.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting pupils of all abilities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
