Job Salary: £24,000 - £35,896

Job location: Cranbourne, Dorset

Contract: Full time, permanent (32 hours per week)

 

Teaching Personnel Permanent Workforce team are currently working alongside an SEN Trust located in Cranbourne, who are currently seeking an Art & Design Teacher from September 2024. we believe in giving young people, ages 11-16, the tools and opportunities to create the lives they want for themselves. With high-quality teaching, an excellent level of individual support and a range of expert-led, integrated therapy, we support all our pupils with a range of needs including Autism and other associated conditions. We can take advantage of our beautiful setting to inspire and create fun experiences to enhance learning and progress.

 

Key duties:

  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the pupils within a specialist learning environment.
  • Use innovative ways of engaging pupils so that they can explore their creativity, supporting them to understand how art can enrich their own lives.
  • Use art as a forum to enable pupils to develop their understanding of culture and the diverse World around them.
  • Enhance social mobility by providing pupils a range of experiences that will support them to confidently communicate in different environments.
  • Work collaboratively and flexibly with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to ensure pupils can access their education.
  • Create, maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum, to ensure pupils develop skills in fine motor, hand eye co-ordination, language, social skills, decision-making, risk taking, lateral thinking, complex analysis, problem solving and inventiveness.
  • Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual.
  • Contribute to the review of EHC plans, PEP and CLA reviews.

 

Requirements:

  • PGCE, QTS/QTLS, or equivalent Level 5 teaching qualification and evidence of in-service training.
  • To be able to teach Entry level 2 & 3, and GCSEs in Art and Design
  • Experience of working in a school environment, ideally in specialist education.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good teaching and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Effective skills in planning, preparation, recording and reviewing pupils’ progress.
