Could you be the person who helps a child feel more confident in the classroom?

Teaching Personnel are recruiting an ALN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Barry, supporting pupils who require additional help with their learning and development.

This position would suit someone who enjoys working closely with children and understands the importance of patience, consistency and building trust.

Your day could include:

Classroom Support

  • Helping pupils access lessons and activities
  • Breaking tasks into manageable steps
  • Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum work

ALN Support

  • Working with pupils with autism, ADHD and other additional needs
  • Supporting communication and social interaction
  • Helping pupils manage transitions and changes to routine

Pastoral Support

  • Encouraging positive behaviour
  • Supporting emotional regulation
  • Building confidence and independence

You'll work closely with the class teacher, Teaching Assistants and ALNCo to ensure pupils receive consistent support throughout the school day.

  • Previous experience in an ALN or SEN setting
  • Teaching Assistant, childcare, support work or similar experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • A calm and positive approach
  • The ability to adapt to individual pupils
  • £13.75+ per hour
  • Weekly PAYE payments

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
