Location: M8, Manchester
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the M8 area of Manchester. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised 1:1 tuition during weekday school hours, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve their academic goals.

This role requires a tutor who can communicate effectively with the learner, and therefore fluency in Arabic and proficiency in Sign Language are essential.

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support students across core subjects, including English, Maths, and other curriculum areas as required.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
  • Use Arabic and Sign Language to support learner communication and engagement.
  • Plan and deliver personalised lessons that promote engagement and progress.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage student confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
  • Fluency in Arabic (essential).
  • Proficiency in Sign Language (essential).
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.
  • Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
  • Knowledge of EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies.
  • Flexible part-time hours during school hours on weekdays.
