Do you have firsthand experience working one-on-one with pupils, whether at the Primary or Secondary level?

Are you interested in supporting children outside the traditional school environment?

This tutoring role offers an ideal opportunity for newly qualified teachers, teaching assistants, or individuals with experience working with children with additional needs, seeking flexible employment.

As a tutor, you'll work closely with children who may have additional needs or are looked after, delivering educational sessions directly to them, either in their homes or at local venues such as libraries. Essential skills and experience include the ability to tailor resources to meet each child's needs, particularly in core subjects like Maths, English, and Science, while ensuring their active engagement in learning tasks.

The location of tutoring sessions may vary depending on the pupil's requirements, but all pupils for this role will be based in the Sutton-in-Ashfield (NG17) area, which boasts extensive transportation links via road, bus, or train.

What We're Seeking in a Tutor:

  • Experience working with children or young people.
  • Capable of planning and delivering engaging sessions across core and cross-curricular subjects.
  • Skilled in assisting pupils to catch up with their education.
  • Proficient in managing and implementing various behavior strategies.
  • Able to monitor pupils' progress and provide constructive feedback, potentially through assessments.
  • Desirable: Experience in Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Successful candidates must be able to provide evidence of these skills and experiences.

Please note that all applicants will undergo background checks and must possess a current DBS certificate (registered with the update service). Teaching Personnel can assist with this process if needed.

Working hours are typically Monday to Friday, from 09:00 to 16:00.
