Teaching Personnel are working with a primary school in Barry that is looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who understands the importance of consistency, routine and building trust with a child who may need additional support to access their learning.

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day
  • Helping the pupil access lessons and classroom activities
  • Supporting communication and social interaction
  • Encouraging positive engagement with peers
  • Helping the pupil manage transitions between activities
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour strategies
  • Adapting resources and activities where appropriate
  • Working closely with the class teacher and ALNCo
  • Has previous experience supporting children with ASD or similar ALN
  • Is patient, calm and consistent
  • Understands the importance of routine
  • Can build a strong relationship with the pupil
  • Is confident working as part of a wider school team

Teaching Personnel offers:

  • £13.75+ per hour, paid weekly through PAYE
  • Full-time Monday-Friday hours

  • Support with DBS and EWC registration if required
