Learning Support Assistant - Primary SEN (Reception to KS2)
Location: Hailsham, East Sussex
Pay: £14.25 per hour
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Hailsham, East Sussex to recruit a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with additional needs from Reception through to KS2.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support children at a crucial stage in their development, helping them build confidence, communication skills, and independence in a nurturing environment.

This inclusive and community-focused primary school is part of a well-established academy trust and is known for its supportive ethos and strong focus on wellbeing. The school provides a nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to thrive academically and socially, with a particular emphasis on supporting children with additional needs through personalised learning and strong staff collaboration.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN, including Autism (ASC)
  • Support children with communication, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support plans
  • Help create a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment
  • Encourage independence and promote pupil confidence
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Confidence supporting children with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for working with primary-aged pupils
  • Experience in SEN, education, care, or similar (desirable but not essential)
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Competitive hourly pay (£14.25)
  • Full-time, term-time only role
