Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Starting at £83.85 per day

Location: SA19

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday (no weekends)

Closing Date: Friday 19th July

Teaching Personnel are searching for a 1:1 teaching assistant to support children diagnosed with autism. We are working with a secondary school in the Llandeilo area, which has links to a specialist teaching facility for children diagnosed with autism. The successful candidate will be supporting a child with autism on a 1:1 basis whilst they are in mainstream education.

Role of a 1:1 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide 1:1 support with a designated pupil, throughout lessons and during breaks.
  • Establish positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
  • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of pupils.
  • Encourage pupil to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Promote self-esteem and independence.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teacher on pupils’ progress.

The Headteacher is looking for someone who is confident and personable. They must also be resilient as there will be some days where work will be challenging. 1:1 teaching assistants will also possess the ability to remain calm in stressful situations. 1:1 teaching assistant roles are extremely rewarding, especially when you are able to see the impact you are having on your pupil’s development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
