We are currently seeking a passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a positive difference in the lives of students in a secondary school setting in Kensington and Chelsea.

Role Overview: As a Learning Support Assistant with Teaching Personnel, you will have the opportunity to work closely with a secondary school student with special educational needs, providing personalized support to help them achieve their full potential. You will work collaboratively with school staff and the SENCO to create a supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-on-one support to the assigned student, assisting with academic tasks and promoting independent learning.
  • Adapt teaching materials and strategies to meet the student's individual needs and learning preferences.
  • Build positive relationships with the student, fostering their engagement and confidence in the classroom.
  • Support the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to monitor the student's progress and adjust support strategies as necessary.
  • Provide regular feedback to the SENCO and school staff on the student's development and any concerns or challenges encountered.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally in a secondary school environment.
  • Understanding of different learning styles and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student learning and development.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of the role.
