Core Subject Tutor - NE65 Northumberland

Location: NE65, Northumberland
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: £25 - £30 per hour, dependent on experience and qualifications

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Core Subject Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the NE65 area of Northumberland. This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition during weekday school hours, helping students improve their understanding of core subjects including English, Maths, and Science, build confidence, and achieve their academic goals.

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt lessons to suit individual learning needs, promote engagement, and help students overcome barriers to learning.

  • Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions in core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
  • Assess learners' abilities and create personalised learning plans.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit different abilities and learning styles.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
  • Encourage student engagement, confidence, and independent learning.
  • Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.
  • Experience teaching or tutoring core subjects.
  • Strong understanding of the UK curriculum.
  • Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
  • Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.
  • Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
  • Knowledge of intervention strategies to support academic progress.
  • Flexible part-time hours during school hours on weekdays.
  • Competitive pay of £25 - £30 per hour.
