Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Altrincham that is seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) from October 2026.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism throughout the school day.
• Help the pupil access learning activities and engage positively within the classroom.
• Implement strategies to support communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver tailored support.
• Adapt learning resources and activities to meet the pupil's individual needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive learning behaviours.
• Monitor progress and contribute to reviews and support plans.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

✅ Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly autism (desirable)
✅ Has previous experience supporting primary-aged pupils in a school or similar setting
✅ Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
✅ Understands the importance of consistency and building positive relationships
✅ Has strong communication and teamwork skills
✅ Is proactive, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
✅ Holds a Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant experience (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
