Recent research has found that there are four organisational and administrative factors that can improve teacher retention rates and lift pupil test scores in maths. Teachers’ underrate girls’ maths skills, linked to gender gap

Boys outperform girls in maths beginning in early primary school, a trend pronounced among high achieving children, a New York University study reports. The pattern was first highlighted in the late 1990’s, with this new analysis finding that teachers attitudes towards female students are also part of the problem. Schools ‘a key influence’ in young driver safety

Over 50 percent of young drivers think their school, college or university has a key influence in how they learn about road safety, according to new research released this week. One in six young motorists in the UK agree that their place of learning was the most influential source of road safety information compared to other influences, like driving instructors or parents. Theatre ‘the first in England’ to open free school

The Royal and Derngate, a theatre in Northampton is set to open a free school, the BBC reported. Announcing the plans at an event celebrating the theatre’s tenth anniversary since re-opening in 2006, the plans are in response to concerns that arts disciplines are being marginalised in schools, under current government policy. The theatre’s chief executive, Martin Sutherland said the proposed free school would help young people to find jobs. Online learning to be focus’ of education by 2025

A recent report, published by Polycom, reveals that many teaching professionals believe tech-enabled learning ( online learning ) will be increasingly pervasive in education by 2025. Polycom’s recent Education in 2025- Technology Innovation survey questioned 1,800 professionals in the global education sector, concluding that most believe online learning will become the predominant teaching tool, perhaps even surpassing traditional classroom based learning. 64 percent of respondents believe students mostly engage with teaching content in the classroom in 2015, but only 25 percent of this group believe this will be the case by 2025.
