Job Description

Rikama Education Ltd is seeking an enthusiastic, inspiring and creative Key Stage 1 Teacher looking for a supportive, nurturing and caring work environment at a Primary School in Chatham, Kent.

This Primary School is a small voluntary controlled Church of England Primary School for 4-11 year olds. They are looking for a skilled and engaging practitioner to teach in a Year 1 class. The candidate should be a motivated and enthusiastic practitioner who is ready to join their supportive and dedicated team from January 2020.

The excellent pupil to staff ratio enables smaller than average class sizes which contributes to the very special ethos around their school. Classrooms are spacious and well-resourced.

The school values not only the development of each child academic ability but also strives to nurture the whole child through a creative and extended curriculum. The school has excellent outdoor facilities such as a large field, which is used for a range of sporting activities forming part of our extra-curricular provision.

As a Teacher your daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Planning and delivering lessons
Classroom management
Marking pupils work
Keeping accurate records of the content of work
Maintaining and improving the academic results of their pupils
Completing group interventions when required
Working as part of a welcoming, friendly team whilst remaining focused on results.

To be considered for this KS1 Teaching position, you will need to have the following:
QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
At least 1 year of teaching experience within the UK
Strong classroom management skills
The ability to direct and supervise the work of Teaching Assistants
The capacity to acknowledge and respond well to feedback and improve
Hold a current DBS on the update service or be willing to commit to having a new DBS run.
