Do you have experience with personal care and working with children and/or young adults?

We are looking for a learning support assistant to enable young people with SEN to access their curriculum. You will be working in an agricultural setting so be ready to start getting stuck into animal management, floristry, garden design and many more fun and interesting subjects! Your students will need to learn the key life skills necessary for when they leave education so you will be a key support mechanism for them.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Helping to build students' confidence and motivation
-Acting as a liaison between tutor and student
-Physically supporting learner, pushing wheelchairs, working with animals and working outside in all weathers
-Supporting learners with managing behaviour and accessing the curriculum
-Ensuring accurate student records are maintained

An ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
-The ability to adapt to a range of working environments and different learning abilities
-An understanding of health and safety implications
-Self-motivation and the ability to work as part of a team
-Significant experience working with young people or adults with a range of learning difficulties
-GCSE grade C or above in maths and English
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-An ability and willingness to travel between sites and elsewhere on a regular basis
