Secondary Learning Support Assistant - SEN
Job DescriptionI am working with a Secondary school who are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistants to work either within the Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with social communication difficulties or as part of the Learning Support Department for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role is to start in September 2018.
This is an ambitious school which is defined equally by its high academic aspirations and its warmth and inclusively. The school provides a good all-round education for their students.
The school have gone through a period of significant and positive change to ensure the school has a track record of achieving consistently good academic outcomes for all.
The school is in South Buckinghamshire and situated close to direct transport links into London.
You will support students in the mainstream classroom as well as supporting / leading small group interventions within the ARP or Learning Support Department
You will need to be patient, calm and assertive with good empathy skills
Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEN is desirable though not essential, as is an ability to understand the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
Ability to support students to access the English and Math's curriculum (up to GCSE) is desirable
