Job Description

Are you looking for your next challenge? Do you have a passion for helping young people with learning difficulties? Can you provide support and guidance to vulnerable young adults?

We are looking for a committed and positive Learning Support Assistant to help young adults with learning difficulties access their curriculum and build up life and social skills. You will be working at a college near Basingstoke either on their main or agricultural campus. You will get involved with lessons such as hair dressing, plumbing, garden design and floristry.

Your responsibilities will include:
-Working with the whole class, a small group or individual learners
-Ensuring accurate student records are maintained
-Participating in all timetabled activities
-Supporting tutor and assisting in preparation of learning environment
-Helping to build students' confidence and motivation
-Understanding the changing needs of each learner and adapting to the changes

An ideal candidate may possess the following skills and capabilities:
-GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
-Knowledge of the range of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities
-A co-operative working style and ability to work as part of a team
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
-A caring approach to learning
-Own means of transport
