About the role

Accountabilities:
  • Planning and preparing schemes of work, courses and lessons, which provide students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
  • Teaching, according to their educational needs, the students assigned to him/her, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the students in school and elsewhere.
  • Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of students.
  • Organising and participating in extra-curricular activities, where appropriate.
  • Ensuring the effective deployment of classroom support.
  • Monitoring and supporting the overall progress and development of your students.
  • Contributing to raising standards of student attainment/achievement.
  • Applying the Behaviour for Learning Policy so that effective learning for all can take place.
  • Maintaining an environment which is conducive to learning.

About you

Qualified teacher status

Experience:
  • Experience of teaching at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Teaching across the whole Secondary age range;
  • Working in partnership with parents.

Professional knowledge, abilities and skills
  • Subject expertise
  • Establish and maintain high expectations for all students
  • The theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all children (e.g. classroom organisation and learning strategies);
  • The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils' progress;
  • The statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection;
