Educational Assistant/Crossing Guard/Noon Assistant
Job DescriptionThe job of Educational Assistant is done for the purpose of improving students' success in the basic academics; relieving teachers of clerical tasks; monitoring students in a variety of settings; and performing crossing guard duties before and after school.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers tests; implements instructional programs and lesson plans, (e.g. reading, math, language, comprehension, writing, computer, etc.); instructs students (individual or small groups), (e.g. reading, math, spelling, self esteem, behavioral skills, daily living skills, etc.); maintains classroom equipment, work area students files/records, (e.g. clean up after various class projects, entering grades, adapting instructional materials, audiovisual equipment, etc.); monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments, (e.g. classrooms rest rooms, hallways, cafeteria, labs, field trips, etc.); participates in in-service workshops and training; performs duties of Crossing Guard as assigned; performs record keeping and clerical functions, (e.g. scheduling, copying, instructional materials, correcting papers, compiling lists, etc.); picks up and or delivers homework/assignments to students at home; responds to emergency situations, (e.g. injured student, fights, etc.); assists other personnel as may be required.
