Your new company
Hays Education are currently working with an established setting in Birmingham that supports students with a range Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This Birmingham based setting is an established provision for SEND with a strong team culture. The setting has good facilities and a pupil focused approach to learning. They provide support to pupils across KS2 -KS5, with a variety of Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Your new role
This is a long term job with the possibility of become permanent. The job will have you assessing, planning and delivering to a post 16 group, with complex needs. Most individuals have complex Autism, physical disabilities and some are non-verbal. In this role you will lead and work with a group of experienced TA's, build a strong rapport with the pupils and take them through an individualised programme of learning and development. You will plan and deliver a curriculum to meet the needs of the cohort, taking an individualised approach. You will be open minded, hands on and comfortable to assist in aspects of personal care if required, on an adhoc basis (as this will generally be supported by the respective TA support). The duration of this job should be at least up until February half term, but is expected to last for the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for this role you should be a passionate, outcomes focussed teacher with QTS, with experience of working with children or young people or adults with Complex Needs, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Complex Needs and/ or Autism. You will have a minimum of 40 days experience, in the last 2 years, of working in schools, SLD, ASD or PMLD settings, which can be referenced. You will be passionate about working with children/ young people to achieve the best of their potential.
