Supply Desk is working in partnership with a supportive and welcoming primary school in Slough to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Year 6 Teacher for a September start.
This role is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about upper Key Stage 2, confident in preparing pupils for KS2 SATs, and dedicated to supporting children academically and emotionally as they transition to secondary school.
As a Year 6 Teacher, you will deliver a structured, engaging, and challenging curriculum that supports pupils during this crucial final year of primary education, helping them achieve strong outcomes and develop independence and resilience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Year 6 National Curriculum
- Preparing pupils effectively for KS2 SATs through targeted teaching and interventions
- Teaching high-quality English and Maths, alongside the wider curriculum
- Creating a positive, focused, and well-managed classroom environment
- Assessing pupil progress and adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Differentiating learning to support a range of abilities, including SEND and EAL pupils
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS2 colleagues
- Supporting pupils’ academic confidence and readiness for secondary transition
- Building strong relationships with pupils, parents, and staff
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching Year 6 or Upper Key Stage 2
(ECTs welcome with relevant KS2 placements) - Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and SATs expectations
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- A resilient, supportive, and motivated teaching approach
- Availability for a September start
- Ability to commute to Slough
- Pay in line with MPS/UPS, dependent on experience
