About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated, resilient, and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a rewarding primary school in Amersham from October 2026. This part-time role offers an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher to make a real difference by supporting pupils' academic progress, confidence, and personal development.

Key Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages pupils to enjoy learning and achieve their best.
  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils' progress, using assessment to inform future planning and support attainment.
  • Foster pupils' academic, social, and emotional development, encouraging confidence, independence, and resilience.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and establish a positive classroom culture where pupils feel safe, respected, and motivated.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and school leaders to provide high-quality learning experiences.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed of pupils' progress and development.
  • Prepare classroom resources and ensure an organised, engaging learning environment.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school by attending staff meetings, training, parents' evenings, and school events.

      Requirements

  • A passion for inspiring and supporting children to achieve their full potential.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is desirable; however, applications are also welcomed from unqualified teachers with relevant classroom experience and a strong commitment to primary education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons.
  • A positive, professional, and flexible approach to teaching and learning.
