Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in home and school-based settings across Kettering and surrounding areas.

The role involves delivering personalised, high-quality tuition to children and young people who require additional academic support during school hours. The focus is on helping learners re-engage with education, build confidence, and make progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 tuition in pupils’ homes or school environments
• Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
• Support core subjects, mainly English and Maths
• Monitor and track pupil progress where required
• Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Follow safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years teaching or tutoring experience (school-based, tuition, or equivalent educational setting)
• Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum
• Experience working with children or young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
• Ability to travel locally within Kettering and surrounding areas

Desirable

• Experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners
• QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (not essential)
• Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition
