Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and committed 1:1 Tutor to support pupils across home and school-based settings within the LE9 and LE10 areas, including Leicester outskirts and Hinckley.

This role involves delivering tailored, individualised tuition to children and young people who require additional academic support during school hours. The focus is on helping pupils re-engage with learning, build confidence, and make progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 tuition in pupils’ homes or school settings
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Support core subjects, mainly English and Maths
  • Track progress and provide brief feedback where required
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years teaching or tutoring experience (school-based, tuition, or equivalent setting)
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to travel within LE9 (Leicester outskirts) and LE10 (Hinckley) areas

Desirable

  • Experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners
  • QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (not essential)
  • Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition
