Job Title: 1:1 Tutor (Home & School-Based)

Location: Daventry and surrounding areas
Job Type: Part-time / Flexible (School hours, term-time)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated 1:1 Tutor to support pupils in home and school-based settings across Daventry and nearby areas. The role involves delivering personalised tuition to children and young people who require additional academic support during school hours.

You will work closely with learners to help them re-engage with education, build confidence, and make progress in core subjects, particularly English and Maths.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 1:1 tuition in pupils’ homes or school environments
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Support core subjects, primarily English and Maths
  • Monitor and record pupil progress where required
  • Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment
  • Follow safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years teaching or tutoring experience (school, tuition, or equivalent education setting)
  • Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Ability to travel locally within Daventry and surrounding areas

Desirable

  • Experience supporting SEN or SEMH learners
  • QTS, PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification (not essential)
  • Experience delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition
