Teaching Assistant required for a specialist provision committed to providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment for students who require a more tailored approach to education. We work with young people who may have faced challenges in mainstream settings, helping them to build confidence, develop resilience, and achieve their full potential.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Sherborne. This role is vital in supporting students both academically and emotionally, ensuring they receive the encouragement and guidance needed to succeed. The ideal candidate will be patient, adaptable, and committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional learning needs.
  • Help manage classroom behavior and support students in developing positive learning habits.
  • Work closely with staff to implement individual learning plans and strategies.
  • Monitor and track student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents where necessary.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Assist with pastoral care and provide emotional support for students when needed.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events.
  • A passion for working with young people and supporting their education.
  • Experience supporting children or adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
