Are you a Teaching Assistant seeking a new and exciting opportunity?

Do you have previous Teaching Assistant experience, preferably in SEMH?

A Secondary school in Rawtenstall, Lancashire are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who can support their pupils with SEMH. The pupils you will be supporting have been identified as requiring additional support in the classroom.

You must have commitment to ensuring the pupils achieve to the best of their abilities.

SEMH Teaching Assistant roles and responsibilities:

  • Assist the classroom teacher in completing outcomes from focused SEMH screening alongside the National Curriculum and SEND assessments
  • To work with the classroom teacher in lesson planning, evaluating and adjusting lessons and activities as appropriate to suit individual needs
  • Monitor and evaluate pupils responses to learning activities through observations and planned recording of achievement against pre-determined learning objectives
  • Assist with the development and implementation of EHCPs and Provision Maps as appropriate
  • Implement literacy and numeracy programmes and make effective use of opportunities provided by other learning activities
  • Provide objective and accurate feedback and reports as required to the teacher on pupil achievement, progress and other matters, ensuring the availability of appropriate evidence
