Autism Teaching Assistant 


22 hours Monday to Friday

Are you interested in working with students with SEND?

Do you have relevant experience or an interest in working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) or MLD (Multiple Learning Difficulties)?

A popular and outstanding secondary school in Preston is urgently looking for a special educational needs Teaching Assistant to work alongside a particular pupil in Year 11, to support him on a 1:1 basis. The school caters for pupils aged from 11 to 16, and the pupils who require additional support will have an EHCP due to being diagnosed with ASC, Hearing Impairments, SLCN and/ or Visual Impairments. 


  • A patient and understanding approach
  • An interest in working with students with MLD and ASC
  • A flexible and proactive approach
  • Existing experience working with children or adults with SEND


  • Assist and support with the development and learning of students within the school
  • Provide 1:1 and general support to students according to requirements for the day
  • Work alongside other teaching and support staff to ensure a safe and productive work environment is maintained
  • Be responsible for ensuring school policies are upheld including behaviour policies
