We are currently looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work within a Special Needs School in Bury. The ideal candidate will be positive and enthusiastic with experience of working in a Special School or eager to learn and develop their skills. The successful candidate will support teaching and learning across the school, providing general support to pupils and management of resources, as directed by teachers and senior staff. You must be able to work effectively with the whole school community including pupils, parents, governors and staff.
The school we are working with is a special school for pupils with a range of learning needs and other associated needs e.g physical disability, complex medical needs, sensory impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, complex speech and language difficulties requiring augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The school supports children and young people from the ages of 5 years to 11 years. The school’s vision is for their children and young people to be safe, happy and to achieve the best possible outcomes, so they are valued and valuable members of their communities.
The position in question is to support in a year 5/6 class for young people with Autism. This position is due to start from September until the end of the academic year. School have stated that all applicants must have a passion for supporting young people with SEN. They have also stated that school-based experience and/or experience supporting people with SEN is desired.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
